Companies collaborate to offer SaaS for internet service providers, telcos and web hosting companies.
Open-Xchange, a provider of open source collaboration software, today announced an agreement with O3SIS, a provider of open-standards-based over-the-air data synchronization and push technologies. The company states that O3SIS will add mobile capabilities to the e-mail, calendar, address book and tasks of Hosted Open-Xchange.
It claims that both organisations expect to release in the third quarter software that will enable internet service providers, telcos and web hosting companies to offer their customers a mobile extension of the Open-Xchange Hosting Edition.
"The market potential for mobile SaaS solutions is tremendous as business users and consumers seek easy-to-use mobile messaging and collaboration capabilities on all the devices they use, anywhere, anytime," said Rafael Laguna, CEO of Open-Xchange. "SaaS makes applications accessible and affordable to small- and medium-size enterprises and consumers without requiring technical expertise."
"Our technology is the perfect add-on to Open-Xchange software. By adding valuable mobile services for their customers, providers will have a unique differentiation opportunity," said Bernd Rützel, chief sales officer at O3SIS. "By offering the combination of Open-Xchange and O3SIS mobile support, providers will attract new customers with Blackberry-like business-class email at very competitive prices. Our agreement with Open-Xchange marks a further milestone in our strategy to extend our global footprint by partnering with leading market players."
