Opus Interactive, a provider of managed hosting solutions, colocation, and hi-cap Internet bandwidth services, today announced that it has joined the R1Soft Hosting Partner Program, a partnership opportunity that enables it to more effectively deploy R1Soft's next-generation Continuous Data Protection backup and restore technology, which allows data to be backed up on a constant basis.

The company states that as a member of the R1Soft Hosting Partner Program, it receives a variety of sales and marketing resources from R1Soft, as well as priority technical support and access to new software updates before they become available to the general public. It says that it will provide Continuous Data Protection as a premium value-added service to its dedicated hosting customers, using Windows, Linux or FreeBSD operating systems.

It explains that Continuous Data Protection is unique in its ability to provide near-Continuous data protection that virtually eliminates the lag time between restore points. With traditional backup technology, there is a delay—hours, days or even weeks between restore points, resulting in significant data loss in the event of a disaster.
