Ring Carrier to bundle Packet Island's PacketSmart platform Into softswitch offering.
Packet Island Inc., a provider of Voice-Data Network Management solutions and Ring Carrier, a provider of products and services based on open enterprise technology, today announced their OEM agreement granting Ring Carrier the right to private brand its Island PacketSmart platform for sales with the Ring Carrier MSP/ISP softswitch.
The company states that Ring Carrier offers a VoIP switch and services system called RingProvider. While the iPBX is based on the asterisk platform Ring Carrier is using a VoIP switching fabric concept. Also, Ring Carrier solution is a scalable and configurable system built on open source and in-house technology. It enables MSP or ITSP to introduce low Capex and Opex VoIP services to their end customers, claims the company.
"The Packet Island platform will enable our customers to preassess their end customer's networks for VoIP readiness, saving them significant troubleshooting time and expense" said Paul Mahler, CTO and Founder of Ring Carrier. "PacketSmart will also give our customers confidence that they are offering their marketplace a VoIP solution with built-in assurance that any call quality issues can be quickly and easily handled before they cause any disruption."
