The solution, among other functions, detects and blocks unknown spyware as soon as it runs and also negates the processes of pharming.

Panda Software, a developer of virus and intrusion prevention solutions, yesterday announced that it is launching the new TruPrevent Personal 2006, a solution designed to offer the proactive protection of TruPrevent to users of antivirus products other than Panda.

The new TruPrevent Personal 2006 detects all types of unknown threats, including viruses, worms, Trojans, security risks, dialers and jokes. It also detects and blocks the processes of pharming, an online fraud technique that redirects users who enter online banking addresses in their browser to spoofed websites identical to the original, but designed to steal confidential bank details.

"Since their launch in August 2004, TruPrevent Technologies have proactively blocked more than 23,000 new samples of all types of malicious code: viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, adware, bots, etc. They are currently used by more than 1 1/2 million users around the world," said Luis Corrons, Director of PandaLabs.
