Peak 10, a data
center operator and managed services provider, yesterday announced that
it has implemented its emergency management plan in anticipation of the
effects from hurricane Wilma. The company is also offering temporary
data center space, Internet access and disaster recovery advice and
counsel to businesses impacted by the hurricane.
When a hurricane or other disaster threatens a Peak 10 data center,
the company implements its emergency management plan to ensure five
important functions in case disaster strikes - each data center will be
fully monitored and managed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, leverage
best practices for data protection through replication and generational
tape backup, access to multiple Tier 1 Internet service providers from
each Peak 10 data center and connectivity from facility-to-facility via
Peak 10's private OC-x network, 24 hours, 7 days a week data center
coverage and availability andwork with customers to ensure their disaster recovery plans are in place and activated.
