Quentin Gallivan, formerly an Executive Vice President at Verisign, was selected based on his track record in building large scale global distribution channels.
Postini, a
provider of email security and management solutions, yesterday
announced the appointment of Quentin Gallivan as its President and
Chief Executive Officer.
Gallivan, 47, joined VeriSign in
1997 and most recently served as its Executive Vice President of
Worldwide Sales and Services. He was responsible for executing and
scaling a broad-based global distribution strategy for VeriSign's
security services business. Prior to VeriSign, Gallivan held a broad
range of management and leadership positions at Netscape and GE
Information Services. Postini claims that Gallivan was selected based
on his track record in building large scale global distribution
channels as well as his organizational leadership qualities. He will
assume his new duties on November 28 and will also join Postini's board.
"Quentin brings a broad array of skills and security and managed
services experience to the company," said Scott Petry, Founder and
Senior Vice President of Products and Engineering at Postini. "His deep
sales and marketing expertise will undoubtedly be an asset to us as we
leverage our industry-leading managed services platform to deliver a
comprehensive and integrated suite of message management products that
address security, availability, compliance, and visibility requirements
of businesses around the world."
"I'm thrilled to be joining this vibrant, high-growth organization,"
commented Gallivan. "Based on my experience, I believe Postini has
incredible customer and technology assets. These provide solid building
blocks for scaling a business in a very large and exciting market. The
management team and the employees have done an outstanding job in
taking the company to where it is today."
