The new antivirus for Plesk servers is based on 4Grid Technology and uses the ClamAV antivirus engine.
Rack-Soft, a developer
and integrator of server and data center software, today launched thier 4PSA
Clean Server 4, an email and file system antivirus for Plesk servers, based on
the 4Grid technology. The company states that its software introduces
distributed scanning, delivery policies and antivirus control features. It also
states that 4PSA Clean Server uses ClamAV antivirus engine.
The company
says that 4PSA Clean Server 4 solves email antivirus scanning issues that Plesk
administrators face. It further explains that the 4PSA Clean Server 4 introduces
an approach to solve these issues by clustering the scanning processes. The
product can be installed on one server like a traditional antivirus and when the
number of servers increases, the hosting company can introduce specialized
scanning nodes that handle email scanning for the entire infrastructure.
Scanning requests are distributed automatically between scanning nodes and email
delivery is not affected even when a hosting machine is flooded with
emails.
"4PSA Clean Server 4 is our first public release of a product
based on 4Grid framework. Together with our customers, we tested the new version
in large environments with more than two hundred Plesk hosting servers. Our
testing partners wereexcited to see that the product took the scanning load from
the hostingservers, allowing these to better answer to requests and serve more
customers. With 4PSA Clean Server, hosting businesses are no longer limited by
email volume", said Bogdan Carstoiu, Rack-Soft's General Manager.
