Initiated an expansion of 89,000 sq.ft. to its Enterprise Data Center in Sacramento, California; also built its own onsite 69KV power substation.
RagingWire Enterprise Solutions, Inc, an IT solution provider, today announced that it has initiated a total expansion of 89,000 sq.ft. to its Enterprise Data Center in Sacramento, California. RES expects its Phase 3 build-out to be completed in Q3 of 2007.
According to the company, RES has also built its own onsite 69KV power substation. With power supplied from two separate grids, the substation is capable of 24 megawatts of capacity. According to Yatish Mishra, President and Chief Technology Officer of RES, the utilization average across Phase 3 data center floor is engineered to reach 200 watts per square foot. This level of cooling was made possible by incorporating 1,200-ton chillers, a 4-foot raised floor, a 32-foot ceiling and main chilled water lines.
"Today's Fortune 500 companies have recognized that designing and managing a top-tier data center is a core competency in itself. These companies are not interested in traveling down an intensive capital learning cycle to 'get this right," said John Hoffman, CEO of RES. "In fact, we have had several top Silicon Valley companies move out of their recently built corporate data centers because they were not able to utilize high-density blade servers due to power and cooling restrictions inherent in their internal designs. RagingWire's Phase 3 expansion is specifically for these customers. We want to allow our clients the ability to expand footprint and power densities at their own pace without risk."
