Claims that its Name Console 2.0 platform will reduce the complex .eu domain registration process to clicks.
Register.com, a provider of domain name registration and Internet services, today announced it has been accredited by EURid to register .eu domain names and is now accepting 'pre-orders' of domain names for Sunrise Phases I and II.
According to Register.com, its corporate clients have the ability to run all of their domain name registrations through Register.com's Name Console 2.0 platform, a critical support tool in the impending .eu registration process. Name Console 2.0 features Rules Base, patent pending, application that allows Register.com to update, in real time, any and all .eu registration rules requirements as they're announced by EURid. Register.com clients will be up to date on current registration regulations. Name Console 2.0 also features a document management system which enables clients to organize trademark documents and immediately submit the appropriate materials for multiple domain name orders.
Bart Lieben, Legal Counsel with PricewaterhouseCoopers and the validation agent for EURid said "Unlike many extension launches, .eu domains will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Nevertheless, during the Sunrise period, domain name applicants must provide evidence to PwC, so that they have a so-called 'prior right' to the names applied for in order to obtain the corresponding domain name. Owners or licensees of trademarks will, amongst others, be able to take part in the earliest available domain registration period known as Sunrise Phase I, set to begin in Q4 2005 and which will last for two months."
