The addition of Time Warner will provide additional redundancy and also ensures greater reliability of its network.

ServerPoint, a provider of shared, reseller, colocated, dedicated and VPS hosting solutions, today announced the addition of Time Warner as a network backbone provider, adding multiple gigabytes of additional bandwidth capacity.

The company says that the addition of Time Warner ultimately provides additional redundancy and ensures reliability of its network. It further says that redundancy is important for enterprise datacenters to help guarantee performance in the event of an outage of a single or multiple backbone providers. It claims that it now has four major backbone providers in its private datacenter facility, and the company will continue to add more providers in the coming weeks and months.

''Redundancy and reliability remain a top priority as our company grows, and we see it as strategically important to ensure our datacenter is widely connected and capable of hosting the next generation of Web applications. Time Warner is an important addition that we have been planning for a number of months, and is among a series of new backbones we are adding," said ServerPoint CTO Erik Johnson.
