Company furthers its mission of reliable web hosting with addition of R1Soft CDP backups.

Shinjiru Technology, a web hosting provider, yesterday announced that it has introduced R1Soft Continuous Data Protection (CDP) backups as an add-on service for its customers.

The company avers that its CDP implementation centers on CDP's Enterprise Edition 3.0, which features an industrial strength Disk Safe for protection against power failures and crashes. On the disaster recovery side, CDP incorporates robust Bare-Metal Restore capabilities, through which the server can be restored directly from disk-based backup, with flexible file-by-file restores.

In discussing the company's selection of R1Soft CDP, CTO Shaun L. praised the software's performance: its quick-completing backups are light on the company's network resources, thanks to CDP's unique replication technology. CDP's ease of administration was another big draw for the company, which has hundreds of servers to manage across multiple data centers. Through CDP's web interface, administrators can centrally manage the backup environment for up to 30 servers. The Explorer-style interface allows administrators to efficiently manage users, define backup schedules and policies, merge recovery points, perform restores, and more.
