New tool monitors the availability and performance of various network resources ranging from local workstations to web and database servers.
SoftLogica Inc., a provider of file and network management tools and utilities, today announced the release of Server Supervisor, a server and network monitoring tool. The company states that the Server Supervisor monitors the availability and performance of various network resources, from local workstations to web and database servers with distributed architecture.
It explains that the tool checks the status of all resource components in a manner that depends on the resource type and monitoring parameters specified by the administrator. The product is configured and administrated with help of a web interface, which makes it accessible from any location on the network over secure SSL connection. Different users can be granted different access rights according to their roles and tasks, it adds.
The company further articulates that the Server Supervisor has a built-in database to store statistical information about all monitor probes. The product includes a statistics analysis component which is targeted at providing a consolidated and descriptive view on the collected information. While exploring the statistics, users can easily switch the view from large scale to short time periods, it claims.
