SonicWALL, Inc., a leading provider of integrated Internet security solutions, today announced two new appointments to senior management positions in the UK and Europe Middle East & Africa (EMEA). New Vice President for EMEA, Koen Philipsen, brings 22 years of European channel sales and management to SonicWALL. He has an impressive record of building and managing distribution networks for networking and software vendors, increasing revenues and forging strong relationships with OEMs and other strategic partners.

Additionally, Paul Thackeray joins SonicWALL as regional sales director for UK, Ireland, Middle East & Africa. With more than 20 years experience in IT security, Paul has a strong background in sales management and channel strategy development. “I am delighted to welcome Koen and Paul to our European management team,” said Michael Stewart, SonicWALL vice president of Worldwide Sales. “Their depth of experience and strong leadership skills will be key factors in our drive to grow aggressively our market share in the United Kingdom and across Europe as a whole.”

Koen Philipsen has previously held management and senior-level executive positions with Resilience Corporation, Inc., RSA Security, BMC Software, Wang Computers and Texas Instruments. Koen holds qualifications in Cobol, Business Economics and Management Studies. Paul Thackeray has held a series of executive management positions with companies such as Global Secure Systems, Cylink, Zergo (which later became Baltimore Technologies) and Digital Equipment Corp. (DEC). Paul is a qualified Chartered Engineer and has a BSc Honours degree in Electronic Communication from the University of Salford in Manchester.
