Announced at the Intel Developer Forum, Virtuozzo support will offer customers additional levels of manageability, security, isolation and I/O performance.
SWsoft, a provider of operating system virtualization and automation tools, yesterday at the Intel Developer Forum announced its Virtuozzo support of Intel Virtualization Technology (VT) capabilities, including Intel Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d) specification.
The company says that, by supporting Intel VT and Intel VT-d, Virtuozzo will offer customers additional levels of manageability, security, isolation and I/O performance. The SWsoft Virtuozzo product release with VT support is scheduled for later this year. Virtuozzo VT-d support will follow in conjunction with platform availability.
"Building virtualization technology into the processor enables Virtuozzo to deliver higher functionality," said Serguei Beloussov, CEO, SWsoft. "As Intel adds more technology like VT-d into its processor and chipsets, hardware vendors, software vendors and ultimately end users benefit from more robust virtualization solutions."
"Intel Virtualization Technology is helping customers achieve better utilization of their hardware investments," said Lorie Wigle, Director of Marketing, Intel's Server Platforms Group. "By incorporating support for Intel Virtualization Technology, SWsoft delivers OS-level virtualization which improves application compatibility and reliability."
