NANOG 45 is a forum where network operators come together to exchange ideas and share technical and operational information affecting networks.
Terremark Worldwide, Inc., a provider of managed IT infrastructure services, today announced that it will host NANOG 45, the North American Network Operators Group's forum for the exchange of technical information and discussion of network implementation issues. The company says that NANOG 45, which will be the first NANOG event held outside North America, will take place January 25-28, 2009.
The company explains that NANOG is an education and operations organization that coordinates and disseminates technical information related to backbone or enterprise networking technologies and operational practices. It further explains that NANOG events are held tri-annually and attract internet network operators, engineers, and software and hardware vendors.
"We are excited to be the host of NANOG 45 in the Dominican Republic," said Josh Snowhorn, Vice President of Terremark. "Terremark has twice hosted previous NANOG events in Miami, but we are especially looking forward to bringing this group of world-class network operators to the Dominican Republic. Hosting NANOG in the Caribbean provides an opportunity to highlight network issues related to the region and allows exposure to ISP's and Network providers who might not otherwise be able to attend."
