The Planet, a web hosting company, today announced the acquisition of 72,000 sq.ft. of additional data center space in Dallas.
The initial phase includes 30,000 sq.ft. of finished Tier 1 data center and support space. The company said that the new facility has approximately $14 million in data center improvements with future capacity for 36,000 servers. The new facility features N+2 level of redundancy including dual electrical utility feeds from separate TXU substations, one 2-megawatt diesel generator, parallel redundant 750KVA MGE UPS and dual 550 ton carrier chillers.
