Provides discounts on Alpha Server Security and Alpha Server Monitoring services.

The Planet, a privately held dedicated hosting company, today announced discounts on its new Alpha Advanced Services. Beginning today and through Sept. 30, the company claims that customers who add Alpha Server Monitoring or Alpha Server Security to new orders will receive these services free for the first month.

The company explains that Alpha Advanced Services are designed to supplement the capabilities of it's self-managed dedicated servers.  Alpha Server Monitoring provides around-the-clock server and service monitoring, including human reactive response with escalation procedures. Alpha Server Security provides ongoing server security management, making certain systems are securely deployed and remain patched and secured, it adds.

''Customers have consistently requested additional services to better manage their servers,'' said Urvish Vashi, The Planet's general manager for dedicated hosting. ''Now they can choose the services that are right for their business model on either a monthly basis or when there's an occasional requirement, all backed by our team of experts.
