The Planet, a privately held dedicated hosting company, today announced one month of free hosting for customers who sign one-year server contracts. The company says that the offer applies to its self-managed dedicated servers, including a la carte advanced services and private and virtual racks and the promotion runs through Jan. 31, 2009.

It further states that businesses can maximize their savings by combining this promotion with one of its existing server discounts. The company avers that this includes a 25 percent reduction on any server priced at more than $200, or the option to double ram, hard disk or bandwidth capacity on select servers.
