Reduces pricing on its two server backup products; EVault Backup and Network Backup.

The Planet, a privately held dedicated hosting company, today announced that it has reduced list pricing on its two server backup products. Effective today, the company states that EVault Backup is now priced at $1 per GB, down from $2. Its Network Backup product is now priced at 50 cents per GB, down from $1.

It avers that the price reduction follows a recent upgrade to its managed storage infrastructure, which offers customers additional storage space and enhanced performance.

"Storage and backup are increasingly critical for small- and medium-sized companies, since data loss can actually drive a company out of business," said Rob Walters, The Planet's general manager of storage and data protection. "Now any organization can protect data – which can literally mean the difference between success and failure – for as little as $5 per month. At this affordable rate, there's no excuse to leave critical data unprotected."
