To provide free domain name registration and one year of web hosting with a catch.
Traverse Web, a provider of Internet services, announced its web hosting program.
Everyone, even individuals, are invited to join the "Pay it Forward" free web hosting program. The company will provide participants with a free domain name registration and one year of free web hosting (with a catch). The catch is that at some point during their first 12 months they must refer one paying customer to help fund the program. Once the paying customer is on board, an additional year of domain name registration and free web hosting is credited to their account.
Additionally, while in service to charity, Traverse Web reserves 25% of the referred paying customer's web hosting funds and donates them back to non-profit organizations in their local community. Non-profit organizations seeking to request funding from this program should visit the Pay it Forward website to enroll their group.
Included with the "Pay it Forward" free web hosting plan is 700 MB of available web space, 70 GB of monthly data transfer, 70 email accounts, free online content management system to build web pages, mySQL database manager, mailing list manager and toll free technical support, claims the company.
"I have always felt it was my mission in life to help others and to achieve that goal with the maximum of reach, I have brought my mission to the web. With this program, start up enterprises, local groups, churches and even classrooms will have a website to launch their own mission online. The 25% of funds we donate directly to these groups is an ongoing residual payment for the lifetime of the referred paying customer and can become a very large source of revenue over time. We believe goodwill comes full circle and that by Paying it Forward today, we can look forward to an even more rewarding tomorrow," said Michael W. Henton, President of Traverse Web.
