New system has the ability to transmit and retrieve encrypted data to and from a remote location.
US LEC Corp., a telecommunications services provider, recently announced that it is offering its business customers online data backup solutions.
As part of a strategic partnership with IPR International, a data protection and recovery company, US LEC's data services backup and restore server data easily over an encrypted Internet connection. According to the company, these solutions also guarantee that two protected copies of all data are compressed, encrypted and transmitted via the Internet to redundant data vaults in two US LEC data centers each day and individual files and folders can then be retrieved over an encrypted Internet connection from customer location.
"With the mission-critical nature of data, businesses need efficient and secure protection of their data from disasters, human error and hackers," said Aaron Cowell, president and CEO for US LEC. "These new data solutions will provide a secure and affordable way for our customers to protect their data 24x7x365 and gain 'peace of mind' that their data is protected using proven, advanced technology solutions while also replacing tape as a backup strategy."
