Secure Computing Corporation, the experts in securing connections between people, applications, networks, and VeriSign, Inc., the leading provider of critical infrastructure services for Internet and telecommunications networks, today announced a worldwide partnership to provide around-the-clock monitoring and management of the Secure Computing Sidewinder G2 Security Appliance through VeriSign Intelligence and ControlSM Services for Network Security.

VeriSign Intelligence and Control Services for Network Security enable enterprises to proactively assess, monitor, manage, and respond to security threats. It combines real-time information, sophisticated analysis tools, and 24x7 operational monitoring and management support to provide integrated control over complex, heterogeneous networks. Additionally, VeriSign Intelligence and Control Services supports a wide variety of security devices, giving enterprise customers the most options of any managed security service provider. This approach allows the enterprise to maximize their existing invesents, increase staff efficiency, implement early warning systems for business continuity, and proactively prioritize security activities and invesent according to business risk.

The Sidewinder G2 will be integrated into VeriSign Intelligence and Control Services for Network Security, enabling VeriSign to correlate data coming from the firewall with real-time security intelligence. As a result, VeriSign’s Managed Security Service engineers will pinpoint and prioritize the security threats that apply to specific Secure Computing customers, enabling effective, offensive actions against security breaches.
