VMware, Inc., a provider of virtualization solutions from the desktop to the datacenter, has announced that VMware Workstation has been named to the JOLT Hall of Fame and has won the JOLT Product Excellence Award in the competitive 'utilities' category. IT says that the winners were announced at the 18th annual JOLT Awards Ceremony held at the Software Development West 2008 Conference and Expo.It adds that the induction into the JOLT Hall of Fame is a particularly special honor, reserved for products whose high-quality has been proven and maintained over time.
The company states that Dr. Dobb's prestigious JOLT Awards recognize those products that have "Jolted the industry with their significance and made the task of creating software faster, easier, and more efficient." Winners are then selected from among hundreds of qualified nominations by an esteemed panel of judges consisting of industry insiders, columnists, and technology leaders.
The company articulates that it is the most advanced virtualization software for desktop and laptop computers, allowing users to run the broadest selection of operating systems on a single PC.
