Forges national retail program to sell its website creation software through its retailers including Office Depot, CompUSA and Amazon.com.
Web.com, Inc., an ICANN accredited registrar and a web hosting company, yesterday announced that it has signed an agreement with Encore, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navarre Corporation and a publisher in the PC CD-ROM market, to sell its website creation software in retailers throughout the country including Office Depot, CompUSA and Amazon.com.
Web.com's Site Builder & Hosting Suite enables customers to register a domain name, build a website and have it hosted for a full year. After the year of free service, customers will be billed a standard recurring monthly fee to maintain their website, hosting and domain name registration.
The product will be available in these retailers at the beginning of July at $99.99. Web.com will provide the website creation software including the web hosting and domain registration and Encore will provide the distribution, packaging and promotion through their retail partners.
"By leveraging Encore's impressive retail relationships, Web.com now has a strong presence among some of the top retailers in the world. These outlets attract a very healthy mix of small business owners and consumers - our core customers.", stated Jeff Stibel, President and CEO, Web.com.
Mike Bell, CEO of Encore commented, "We are very excited to partner with Web.com to bring a truly complete website solution to retail for the first time. The unique nature of this product - bundling a website builder, domain name registration, web hosting, and Google search marketing at a sub $100 price point - makes it a very compelling customer offer."
