Meriton Networks Inc., an Agile Optical Networking company, today announced that Equinix, Inc., a provider of data centers and Internet exchange services, has selected the Meriton 6400 OTP (Optical Transport Platform) to link its Internet Business Exchange(IBX) centers in the Los Angeles area.

The Los Angeles deployment builds upon an earlier 6400 OTP network that links Equinix's Silicon Valley area IBX centers. According to the company, network efficiency, service flexibility, simplified and dynamic provisioning and one-time engineering are some of the key features that drove Equinix to select the 6400 OTP. The Meriton 6400 OTP a multiservice ROADM offers a fully automated optical layer that simplifies installation, management, provisioning and maintenance for companies. Additionally, it also provides jumper-free installation and provisioning, reducing time-to-service, operational expenses and provisioning mistakes.
