Moniker to Host Domain Auction
 

Moniker, an ICANN accredited registrar, on February 7th, 2007, announced that they will host a live/silent domain auction at the TRAFFIC West Conference in Las Vegas on March 7.

Coffeengo.com, dealscoop.com, eventscoop.com and movershakers.com are anticipated to be among those website rights in the form of domains that will be up for bid, besides others. In this next auction, Moniker will have proxy bidding available for those not able to attend.

“There is a new online advertising trend by which traditional advertisers are buying brand advertising, domain names, instead of buying keyword search engine advertising. With a reversal of traditional brand spending, Fortune 500 brands and marketers are buying stand alone domains. Either you can put millions of dollars into major ad campaigns or use an easy descriptive identifier to achieve similar growth, higher repeat business and in the long term, more intangible value to the business," said Marie Nelson of IndustryScoop.
