Savvis Appoints New CEO
Savvis Inc., a provider of computing, Internet and network services, on Tuesday announced that it has named Philip J. Koen as Chief Executive and Director to replace former CEO Robert McCormick, who resigned after running an expensive tab with the corporate card at a topless bar. Jack Finlayson, interim CEO for the past five months, will continue as President and COO of the corporate networking services company. Koen, 54, previously served as President and COO of Equinix, a provider of network data centers and Internet exchange services. Before that, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Equinix. McCormick resigned in November after an investigation into the $241,000 bill charged to his corporate American Express card at the New York City strip club, Scores. McCormick and Savvis contended the bill at Scores should have been between $18,000 and $19,000. On March 8, Scores, American Express, Savvis and McCormick reached a confidential settlement to resolve a lawsuit over the bill. |
