eSoft Announces New Release of Email ThreatPak SoftPak
eSoft, Inc., a vendor of integrated Internet security and content management solutions, yesterday announced a new release of its Email ThreatPak SoftPak for the ThreatWall Content Security Gateway. The new release protects email downloaded from Internet email (POP3) accounts against viruses and spam, as well as protecting email sent directly to corporate mail servers. eSoft says that its Email ThreatPak combines the latest spam-fighting technology with a powerful anti-virus engine and content filtering to provide cost-effective and comprehensive protection from email-borne threats right at the gateway. It uses deep packet inspection to monitor all email traffic on the POP3 protocol (commonly used by mail programs such as Outlook Express and Eudora) for spam, viruses and other malicious content and quarantines or deletes it before it can reach users' computers. "Small businesses can capitalize on email accounts provided by their ISPs or web hosting companies for little or no additional cost," said Jeff Finn, President and CEO, eSoft. "However, these accounts are often a security risk because they offer limited or cost-prohibitive anti-virus and spam protection. The ThreatWall with Email ThreatPak eliminates this risk and offers additional network security benefits such as Anti-Spyware and Intrusion Prevention." |
