123Together Launces Hosted SharePoint Services 3.0 SP1
 

123Together.com, a provider of hosted messaging and collaboration solutions such as hosted Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 SP1 and hosted Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, announced the release of Service Pack 1 for hosted SharePoint 3.0 to small and mid-size businesses.  It claims that this is a first service pack release which provides businesses with increased performance, added stability and security enhancements.

The company states that their hosted messaging and collaboration customers can now take advantage of new document libraries, lists, and meeting workplace sites and enjoy enhancements to search capabilities, web discussions and browser-based customization. It adds that serving as a central point of data dissemination for such things as documents, task lists, and image libraries, employees can create, share and manage project timelines, data lists, updated files, corporate photography, newly created web pages and intranet sites.

In addition the company states that this enterprise-class collaboration tool provides businesses with increased individual and team productivity, collaboration and document sharing. Further it has traditionally been used by larger organizations with national or international reach since Windows SharePoint Services is not limited by geographic boundaries and stands as a central location from which to store and manage information. SMBs can also benefit from their collaborative features but have, until recently, been unable to do so due to the high cost and deployment delays involved in setting up servers in-house.

It also claims that the hosted SharePoint Services 3.0 SP1 now enables SMBs to take advantage of collaboration to increase team productivity and business process efficiency without the need to incur upfront expenses, conduct additional training of IT staff or purchase of new hardware and software. It avers that customers can sign up and collaborate with coworkers immediately on a shared or dedicated server with guaranteed uptime of 99.9% on shared servers and 100% on dedicated servers.
