AIT Upgrades Spam Protection

AIT, a web hosting company, today announced that it has beefed up anti-spam service that is available at no cost.

The company says that the upgrade entails software that sits between a user's e-mail client and the Internet, poring through incoming messages and filtering based on rules defined by third-party companies who monitor known proxy servers, RBL lists, and other spam senders.

The only fee is a one-time charge for pointing a user's MX record. E-mail is read as normal, but without the junk; spam is automatically siphoned out of the flow. The service also means filtering without 'false positive', where important messages are treated as spam.

"This is effective mail management for small businesses who don't have the time or budget to institute intensive self-management systems," said Clarence Briggs, AIT's Chief Executive Officer. "In addition, this tool looks at phishing sites and possible issues with HTML newsletters, like viruses and bad links."
