Oracle Selects New President
Oracle Corporation, an enterprise software company, today announced the appointment of Gregory B. Maffei as President and will also assume the role of Chief Financial Officer in July. Mr. Maffei recently served as Chairman and CEO of 360networks Corporation, a broadband provider serving the rural Western United States. Gregory served as Chief Financial Officer of Microsoft Corporation from July 1997 to January 2000 where he also oversaw its $35 billion cash and strategic investment portfolio. From 1999 to February 2002, he also served as Chairman of Expedia, Inc., the Internet travel service, which Microsoft took public in November 1999. Mr.Maffei serves as a director of Electronic Arts Inc. and Starbucks Corporation. "I am thrilled to be joining Oracle," said Mr. Maffei. "Oracle is one of the premier technology franchises on the front end of an extremely strong product cycle. I am excited to help lead the company during this next round of growth."
