Internet Security Systems (ISS), recently announced that it has added valuable new features to its Managed Intrusion Detection and Prevention Service (IDS/IPS), making it available to a wider range of companies and increasing capabilities for existing customers.

New features include additional support for leading third-party security products, value-adds such as integrated, expanded vulnerability management capabilities and a tiered pricing model tailored to meet the needs of large enterprises and small companies alike. The ISS Managed Intrusion Detection and Prevention Service provides comprehensive protection for networks and servers, blocking threats and unauthorized access from internal and external sources, claims the company.

This service is now available in a variety of options which allow organizations to maximize existing security tools while improving regulatory compliance and reducing the risks of system compromise and downtime, leaks of sensitive data and resulting financial loss. In addition to supporting ISS' RealSecure and Proventia IDS/IPS technologies, ISS is adding support for third-party IDS/IPS technology from vendors including Cisco, 3Com and McAfee.
