ICANN Announces New Staff Appointments in IANA
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), recently announced the appointment of two new staff members. David Conrad has been appointed as the General Manager of Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA). According to ICANN, David brings a wealth of experience in Internet technologies which will be invaluable to it and the IANA function. He holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland. His most recent role has been as CTO for Nominum and also as a member of the ICANN root server system advisory committee, a position he has held since 2000. Previously David was a member of the Board of Trustees for ARIN and he was a Founder and first Director General of APNIC. Kim Davies joins ICANN as IANA Technical Liaison. Prior to this appointment, he was the Technical Policy Advisor to CENTR, the Council of European National TLD Registries since 2002. ICANN says that his role on the CENTR secretariat and representation of European country code managers in the international fora brings additional knowledge and expertise to the organisation. |
