Parallels Announces the Availability of Plesk Panel 10
Parallels, a provider of virtualization and automation software, yesterday announced that it has made version 10 of its flagship control panel, Parallels Plesk Panel, generally available, enabling service providers to more easily deliver profitable services to hosting customers.
According to it, Parallels Plesk Panel 10 includes more than 100 new features including key improvements to user interface, the breadth of applications, VPS environment density, and site building capabilities. Panel 10 is designed to help service providers launch new services, expand their existing service offerings, and reduce the churn in their business, as small businesses continue to increase their adoption of hosting and cloud based services.
The company articulates that in order to address the needs of various camps, it has now bundled two components at no charge into the product: Parallels SiteBuilder, and Customer and Business Manager. SiteBuilder provides SMBs an easy wizard to build a website and update website content. Customer and Business Manager gives hosts a completely integrated billing, ordering and payment processing solution. Top cloud and hosting firms including Go Daddy (www.godaddy.com) and Softlayer (www.softlayer.com) are already making Parallels Plesk Panel 10 available to their customers.
It explains that Panel 10 provides an integrated application marketplace, Parallels Partner Storefront, which enables hosts to easily sell hundreds of commercial applications without integration or development costs. This marketplace gives customers single-click access to hundreds of applications, enabling them to find a customized solution to meet their specific needs. Parallels Plesk Panel 10 also offers a special VPS-optimized version of Parallels Plesk Panel for VPS providers that reduces the memory footprint by up to three times compared to the standard version, and is 20 to 40 percent more efficient than competitors, according to the company.
"We've looked at some of the key audiences using Parallels Plesk Panel - shared web hosters, web designers, and SMBs, and Parallels Plesk Panel 10 is an absolute game changer for them," Parallels Marketing and Alliances President Jack Zubarev said in a statement. "With this new version, Parallels reduces the complexity involved in running a hosting business, enables seamless access to commercial applications through Partner Storefront, and delivers some powerful enhancements to the user interface such as power-user mode."
"The comprehensive features of Parallels Plesk Panel 10 enable us to enhance our offerings, automate our business and increase our company's revenue," Softlayer Chief Strategy Officer George Karidis said in a statement. "Parallels Plesk Panel 10 makes it simple and easy for our partners to launch hundreds of applications with a single click."
"Many of Go Daddy's 8.5 million customers are small businesses who want to leverage the Internet to improve their business," Go Daddy President and Chief Operating Officer Warren Adelman said in a statement. "The cloud services we offer with Parallels Plesk Panel 10 make it easy for administrators to manage their online businesses more efficiently."
"We have been using Parallels Plesk Panel for eight years and find it invaluable for our business but one of the most efficient elements of the product is the role-based access that ensures each employee gets the information they need in the fastest possible time," said Kathy Nelson, chief decision maker at Ovaleye (www.ovaleye.com), a premier web host for women in business. "It really is helping us be more efficient and grow our business through the rapid deployment of cloud services."
