INetU Managed Hosting Earns SAS70 Type II Certification
 

INetU Managed Hosting, a web hosting company, today announced that the company has earned SAS70 Type II Certification. The company claims that the widely-recognized Statement Auditing Standards (SAS) 70 proves a service organization has been through an in-depth audit of their control objectives and activities. SAS70 requires a company to construct objectives and controls to verify that those objectives are being met, it adds.

The company avers that for its clients and prospective clients, SAS70 Type II certification means that an outside source has verified that the company has strong operational controls in place, and that it accurately follows the controls. The comapny further explains that after a six-month auditing period, it received a "unqualified" SAS70 report, indicating that the external auditing firm found no major exceptions between INetU's controls and evidence collected by the auditors. The company adds that its SAS70 controls entail a wide range of operations, including physical security of the facilities, installation and maintenance of hardware, and following support best-practices.
