1&1 Introduces Windows Advanced Hosting
1&1 Internet Inc., a web hosting company, today announced that all dedicated Windows Servers are delivered with Microsoft's new operating system, Windows Web Server 2008. The company says that all systems are also equipped with the platform that helps users to install comprehensive web applications with just a few mouse clicks.
The company articulates that the delivery of web applications and services is based on the new Internet Information Services 7. Due to individual modules for these services, the new operating system is less vulnerable to external attacks and requires fewer server resources. IIS7 includes many new and improved administration tools like the graphical IIS manager. It adds that its customers can choose from three Windows Server 2008 versions - besides the standard image including SQL Microsoft Express Edition 2008, there are also versions with Parallels Plesk Panel 8.6. and 'minimal installation' available. The company explains that on all 1&1 Windows Servers with Windows Web Server 2008, the Windows Server Advanced Hosting package is pre-installed. Advanced Hosting includes a package manager that enables users to install comprehensive applications with few mouse clicks. Users can choose from some 50 free available programs like the popular eShop software osCommerce, DotNetNuke and content management systems Drupal and Joomla as well. |
