A registrar can lose domains if existing domains expire (Loss by Deletion) or if domains are transferred to another registrar (Loss by Transfer). Section Notes:

An ICANN registrar can lose domains in the following ways:

1) Loss by Deletion (Deleted Domains)
When an existing domain ceases to exist (expires), the registrar loses a domain. This type of loss is termed as Loss by Deletion.

2) Loss by Transfer (Transferred Domains)
When a client decides to shift its domain from one registrar to another, then the former registrar loses a domain. This type of Loss is termed as Loss by Transfer.


Tip: Loss by Transfer represents an important figure. It is the number of domains transferred from Net4India Limited to another Registrar. Please refer to the "Loss by Transfer" section for further details.
